Because I don’t do things by half and obviously like keeping myself on my toes, as well as hosting an epic Royal Wedding party today, this morning, I took Bella to the new The Little Play Cafe in Tunbridge Wells for a Something Special event. If you haven’t been to the cafe before, I can highly recommend it.
The cafe has a magical feel about it. I love the giant, mythical tree in the middle of the room and the fun, foxy wallpaper print. There’s a small dedicated play area for kids, equipped with a toy kitchen, building bricks and ride-ons. There’s a fancy dress station and a ball pit & slide.
We arrived early to suss the place out and to have a cheeky pre Mr Tumble’s treat. Bella had a cute Mr Tumble themed mini cupcake and I had a Chocolate Tiffin. Mine was delicious, Bella practically swallowed hers whole, so I’m guessing her’s was delicious too!
The Something Special event was well organised. There was a Mr Tumbles look alike (a more creepier version of the real deal) and he encouraged the kids to sing songs and taught them how to sign. They played Pass the Parcel & there was a parachute. Most of the kids were terrified! Just look at Bella’s expression!
After the songs and games, the kids got to make their very own spotty bag. Bella did warm up eventually and she wanted to show Mr Tumble her spotty bag. She then ran a mile when Mr Tumble attempted to make contact for a photo. We managed to lure her back with the promise of a rummage in the sweetie bag.
I think kids get overwhelmed when they meet their idols. Although their was sheer panic pasted on Bella’s face throughout the experience, she did tell me to put her spotty bag on the wall and that she had fun meeting Mr Tumbles.
